Nobody said it would be easy

Hi everyone!

Tomorrow finally back to Spain with the kids for the summer, and I’m mentally doing what they have been doing these last six months on our American adventure. It is true that at the professional level for Gon, things have not gone as he thought, but no one said this would be easy.

Everything is new, and I mean everything is new tournaments, camps, hotels, players … We have to be very brave to take the leap, and he has been, and that is why I am sure everything will be okay. I am one who thinks that everything happens for a reason, and no doubt he learned more from the difficult times. Also, you learn more about who is by your side unconditionally. Anyway, the results are slowly coming, because in the end everything is a process of adaptation, and it is only a matter of time.

Speaking as a familiy we could not be happier with the decision we made to pack up and come to the US As I have said on many occassions, the place in which we live is great for the kids, and they are happy. And we have received many visits from family and friends.

Over the last few days there has been a number of farewell lunches and dinners, as most of the people leave Miami during the summer months because the heat is unbearable (like Madrid). You spend the day inside with the air conditioner on high, and only venture out in the afternoon when the sun begins to fall. It is also a time when people move, Key Biscayne is a transient place, and suddenly you find yourself saying goodbye to friends you have made who are returning to their home countries. That is why there are so many ‘garage sales’ everywhere you look, people who are moving want to sell their belongings. You can find everything, at great prices too, because in the end they are looking to get rid of everything. I’ve been to several and is quite fun and very practical, like everything here in America.

It is also the time for graduations, because here children graduate from kindergarten. It was very funny to see my son with all his mates with togas and receiving their diplomas. I do not want to imagine what it must be like when they finish high school … But I have to say that’s something I like a lot about the American way …that is to celebrate all!

I have a long day ahead packing our bags, so I bid you farewell until the next post.

Thanks for reading!
