Among them more than sixty participants of this test inaugural added nearly 500 presences in tournaments of the European Tour. An amazing experience in grand competition that can be highly beneficial to the young promises who will also be at La Cañada. There are two names to note: Juan Quirós  and Pedro Linhart. The two Spanish veteran golfers together have played in 383 European Tour tournaments. Quiros has played in 193 and Linhart 190. Both golfers are highly experienced winners. Quiros has five trophies (four in the Senior Tour and one in the Challenge), while Linhart has won on three occasions, one in each tour (Challenge, European Tour and Senior). The lessons taught by these renowned players is like getting an express masters course.

Other experienced golfers in the European Tour are Mario Galiano (who was one of the best amateurs in the world), Daniel Berna (who just won the Final in the Madrid Professionals Tour), Manuel Quirós (having played in 74 European Tour tournaments) and Gabriel Cañizares, who has played in more than thirty European Tour tournaments and who has won the order of merit in the Gecko Tour as well as in the Spanish National Tour.

Other names that stand out in this opening event are English golfer Sam Connor, four-time winner of the EuroPro Tour last year and Challenge Tour 2016 player, and German golfer Claudio Consul, amateur who currently stands inside the top 100 in the amateur world rankings and who played in the Pro Golf Tour this year with very good results.

The tournament will take place over two days (Monday and Tuesday) and will crown the first champion of this new chapter of the Gecko Tour, which will be put in motion on one of the most Andalusian courses. Great players such as Juan Quirós, Álvaro Quirós and María Parra, a golfer who just became professional and who has already earned the Ladies European Tour card for next year, have all emerged from its fairways and greens.
