We are still in a moment of golf disconnection after the Estrella Damm Valderrama Masters. It’s time to recharge, put competition aside and return as fresh as possible to the Dubai Final, the last big event of a very busy year. In this situation, I wanted to share with you on the blog three reflections/anecdotes/stories that have nothing to do with my day to day, but I think they can be curious. They are questions that were asked me a few days ago and that can certainly lead to interesting and spicy discussions…
My historical eleven of Athletic
The first thing I was asked was what would be my historical eleven of the Athletic Club. Honestly, I dare not give a complete eleven because it would not be fair. I don’t remember well, I haven’t seen the older players and I’m sure I leave out some of the most relevant in our history. For this, my grandfather would have been the best. However, what I do have clear is that, at least for me, maybe there are others who think differently, Iríbar would always be there. One hundred percent. Then, I dare not say much. Surely Zarra and probably Javi Martínez, a great player although he was not with us for long, would have to be included.
The best invention of man
This question is really complicated. You have to think about it a lot and well. So many things can be said… The first thing that comes to my mind is anything related to water, specifically to getting drinking water to people. Without water we cannot live and I would probably say something like that, like an aqueduct or something related to this… I’m sure there is someone who thinks about the wheel, democracy, also something about Health or the Internet. I imagine people saying the telephone or even the iPhone (hahaha). I stick with water.
The first autograph I asked for
If we talk in general, it was surely to some Athletic footballer. I don’t remember, but I’m sure my grandfather would know. But if we talk about golf, I have no doubt about that. My first autograph was asked to Mikel Galdos…
