El Asian Tour, el DP World Tour y el PGA Tour have today announced a collaboration agreement that will remain in effect at least until 2029, marking a new chapter for world golf. With immediate effect, the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour, through their current Alianza Estratégica, will partner with the Asian Tour to generate commercial and sporting opportunities, as well as to establish access pathways for the leading players on the Asian circuit, who will be able to obtain playing rights on the DP World Tour from the 2027 season

El DP World Tour will also resume co-sanctioning several tournaments with the Asian Tour from 2027. All details on those events will be released when the DP World Tour announces its schedule for the next season, later this year

El DP World Tour and the Asian Tour previously maintained a Alianza Estratégica between 2016 and 2021. That agreement formalised a relationship that had begun in February 1999, when the Open de Malasia became the first joint event of both circuits. In total, 108 co-sanctioned tournaments have been contested, in addition to a further 21 events jointly sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour or the PGA Tour of Australasia

Cho Minn Thant, commissioner and chief executive of the Asian Tour, said in this regard: “We believe the time has come to collaborate with the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour to strengthen the Asian Tour for the benefit of our players, fans and partners. Bringing the three circuits together under a single alliance will increase the reach of professional golf in Asia. Not only will it allow our players to compete regularly on the international stage thanks to the co-sanctioned tournaments, but we are also excited to welcome players from the other tours to our biggest events, which showcase the strength and diversity of golf in Asia”

Ben Cowen, director of Tournaments and Operations at the DP World Tour, said to the same effect: “We are delighted to rekindle our historic relationship with the Asian Tour and, furthermore, to strengthen it with the inclusion of the PGA Tour in this new alliance. As the Global Golf Circuit, we bring together the best international talent and the official access pathways established by this agreement will offer unprecedented international opportunities to Asian Tour players. Our agreement therefore represents not only a hugely positive step for golf in Asia, but also the start of a new and exciting era of collaboration for world golf”,

For his part, Christian Hardy, Senior Vice President, International, of the PGA Tour, noted: “This agreement is a further example of what can be achieved when organisations work together with a shared vision for the future of professional golf. Through our Alianza Estratégica with the DP World Tour we have worked to build a more connected global golf ecosystem, and we are delighted to welcome the Asian Tour to that project. Together we are creating new opportunities for players, strengthening major national opens around the world and continuing the evolution and reinforcement of access pathways to identify and develop the next generation of great golfing talent.”
