Carlos Ortiz (-19) dominated the final round of the International Series of Oman from start to finish and took the victory. The Mexican handed in an excellent card of 65 strokes, the best of the day, and won with a four-stroke lead over Louis Oosthuizen (-15) and five over Joaquín Niemann (-14). An unappealable victory.
Ortiz went out to play this Sunday’s final round at the Al Mouj Golf Club as leader tied with Oosthuizen. It was the South African who struck first with a birdie on hole 3, but Carlos liquidated the tournament with a fabulous sequence between holes 6 and 14. There he decided the tournament and left everyone else composed and without a title. Partial of seven less in nine holes and matter settled. Without a doubt, this victory will be a significant boost for Carlos Ortiz, whose best result in LIV Golf was a second place in Tucson last year falling in the multiple playoff against Danny Lee.
