With a mix of disappointment and pride. That’s how Joel Moscatel (-13) finished his third round of the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final. A card of 69 strokes, but with that bittersweet feeling that it could have been many fewer.
The Spaniard is currently in 13th place on the leaderboard, just one stroke away from the top ten, and with a provisional result that also allows him to gain a position in the annual ranking of the Road to Mallorca. He would finish in eighth place. Not a small feat.
“That’s golf,” he stated right after finishing the day. On one hand, disappointment because he was aware that the result wasn’t reflecting his play, but Moscatel didn’t want that to be the prevailing feeling. No. “I’m playing very well and under normal circumstances today I could have scored four or five strokes better, but that’s golf, that’s how it is. Sometimes it gives and sometimes it takes,” he remarked on his way to sign the card leaving the 18th hole, confident that tomorrow he might achieve that very low round he’s been circling, and why not, climb even higher in the final Road classification.
