For the second consecutive day, the Danish Golf Challenge had its schedule disrupted due to the weather. A thunderstorm forced play to stop for almost an hour. However, the challenging conditions at the Bogense Golf Club did not prevent Scottish golfer Calum Fyfe (-13), who had dominated the first round of the tournament in the afternoon session, from signing a remarkable 67 strokes this morning, keeping him at the top of the leaderboard with a two-stroke advantage.
With six birdies and a bogey, maximising his great play and even forgiving a putt on the 18th that practically popped out, the leader heads into the weekend full of confidence on a course where he feels particularly comfortable. “I’m good with wedges, so I just have to get into the right position and try to spin the ball to stop it, and here I’m playing well. When I hit from the rough, I feel more relaxed because I know I can make birdie anyway,” said Fyfe.
His advantage before facing the final two rounds, in which he will try to achieve his best-ever result on the HotelPlanner Tour, is the same as he had yesterday after the first 18 holes, although the second place has changed. The Dane Jonathan Goth-Rasmussen (-8), who couldn’t maintain his level of accuracy from yesterday, makes way for the Swede Per Längfors (-11), who with 66 strokes improved his initial day’s result by one to lead the long list of pursuers.

The Dutch Lars van Meijel (-10) and the Dane John Axelsen (-9) are next in a leaderboard where, unfortunately, you have to look beyond the twentieth position to find the first Spaniards. Adri Arnaus (-3), after his lukewarm start, reacted this Friday with a good round of 68 strokes, with five birdies and a bogey, which, although allowing him to recover positions, seem insufficient to get into the fight to be at the top. Lucas Vacarisas (-3) played under par again, with four birdies and two bogeys for a round of 70 strokes, sharing the 27th position with Adri. Meanwhile, Albert Boneta (PAR), thanks to his 71 on Friday, managed to make the cut at the limit despite playing one stroke over par today. Joining them at the last minute was Borja Virto (PAR), with a decisive birdie on the 9th hole, the last of his round, to sign a 70 that allows him to continue playing over the weekend.
Less successful were Javier Sainz (+5), Quim Vidal (+7), Alejandro Cañizares (+7), and David Borda (+8), as well as Santiago Tarrio, who withdrew after just four holes played and was one under par for the day. All of them are out of the tournament, and the Spanish presence for the weekend is reduced to only four players out of the nine who started the week.
