MJ Daffue (-16) has put his victory on track at the DP World PGTI Open, a tournament of the HotelPlanner Tour currently being played in India and which will finish this Sunday with a marathon of holes due to the continuous delays caused by the fog. Daffue was playing a sensational five-under-par in his first 12 holes when the suspension horn sounded. That is, he still has six holes left to further improve his position. At this moment he is four shots clear of Aaron Zemmer (-12), Rashid Khan (-12), co-leader alongside Daffue at the end of the second round, Lukas Nemecz (-12) and Adam Wallin (-12). Any of them still have enough to snatch the win from Daffue.
In any case, it’s undeniable that the situation couldn’t be more positive for the South African golfer. With 24 holes to play he has a four-shot lead. It would also be his second win of the season, so, if it is confirmed, he would be just one victory away from automatic promotion to the DP World Tour.
The Spaniards have fallen well short of victory. Albert Boneta (-9) is also stuck at the 12th hole, but his score for the day was +1.
