The Real Federación Española de Golf and the HotelPlanner Tour once again demonstrate their strong commitment to Spanish golf and the development of younger players by confirming the hosting of two tournaments in our country this season. The Challenge de Catalunya and the Challenge de España will once again make Spain a key stage for the new generation of European professional golf, offering young players a top-level platform to make the leap to the DP World Tour.
Fontanals Golf will once again host the Challenge de Catalunya; Isla Canela will take a step forward with the Challenge de España after hosting the PQ of the DP World Tour.
With this double event, the circuit strengthens its firm commitment to the development of Spanish golf and the international projection of young talent, consolidating our country as one of the great breeding grounds of European golf.
The Real Federación Española de Golf, a key pillar in the development of great golfers.
The president of the Real Federación Española de Golf, Juan Guerrero, highlights the enormous importance of these tournaments for the present and future of national golf: “The HotelPlanner Tour is a true breeding ground for champions: many of the great names who today succeed in the world’s main circuits have emerged from here, Spanish players who have made the leap to the elite. For our young players, competing at home in a circuit of this level is an extraordinary opportunity for training, growth, and international projection. From the Real Federación Española de Golf, we will continue to promote these tournaments that are essential to ensure the generational relay and the future of our sport”.
Fontanals Golf repeats after the success of 2025
After the resounding success of the Challenge de España in which Fontanals Golf debuted as the venue for the HotelPlanner Tour and the young Charmasson as the winner of this circuit, the response from players and the public has been key for the Catalan course to repeat as the venue.
The president of Fontanals Golf, Ramón Puyol, assures: “Hosting a HotelPlanner Tour event again is a true pride for our club. Last year’s experience was extraordinary for both the players and the organization and the province. Repeating this event confirms the prestige of our course and our commitment to continue supporting high-level golf”.

Isla Canela Links, new venue for the HotelPlanner Tour
The Challenge de España will mark the debut of the HotelPlanner Tour at Isla Canela Links, one of the most unique courses in southern Europe, located on the shores of the Atlantic. Although it has already hosted the DP World Tour in its PQ‘s, it will be the first time this course hosts an official circuit event, becoming one of the major new additions to the calendar.
Marco Colomer, president of Isla Canela Links, has highlighted: “For us, it is a historic milestone to host a HotelPlanner Tour tournament for the first time. It is an exceptional opportunity to showcase the potential of our course internationally and to position Isla Canela as a top-level destination within professional golf”.
The HotelPlanner Tour and its strategic commitment to Spain
The General Director of the HotelPlanner Tour, Jamie Hodges, has emphasized the importance of the Spanish market for the circuit: “Spain is one of the most important countries for the HotelPlanner Tour, not only because of the quality of its courses but because of the extraordinary level of its players. Year after year, we see how Spanish talent consolidates in the circuit and reaches the highest level. Holding two tournaments in Spain is a natural and strategic commitment for us. Fontanals has proven to be an exceptional venue, and the addition of Isla Canela Links allows us to continue growing in prestigious venues. We are convinced that both tournaments will offer a top-level sporting spectacle”.
JGolf, driving force behind the project in Spain
As a promoting and organizing company, JGolf once again plays a key role in bringing the circuit to our country.
Javier Gervás, General Director of JGolf, the organizing company of both tournaments, assures that “the continuity of the Challenge de Catalunya at Fontanals and the arrival of the HotelPlanner Tour at Isla Canela Links for the first time is great news for Spanish golf. Both tournaments reflect the circuit’s confidence in our country and the organizational capacity of our venues. Spain has a generation of young players with a very high level, and these tournaments are a perfect platform for them to continue growing, measuring themselves against the best in the European circuit”.
With the confirmation of these two events, the HotelPlanner Tour strengthens its presence in Spain and maintains its commitment to offering players a key platform for their international projection, while placing Catalonia and Andalusia at the centre of the top-level European golf calendar
