– This week the Dormy Open is taking place, a tournament of the HotelPlanner Tour on Swedish soil that some of the top players on the circuit have skipped, likely with a view to preparing in the best way for the three consecutive events in September, a prelude to the mini tour in China, where the field will be smaller and the prize pool larger. Therefore, it is a week that could present a good opportunity for other contenders with different objectives.
– For example, from the top 5 of the Road to Mallorca, only one player is present, number 3, the Italian Filipo Celli, while from the top 45, who qualify for the circuit final, only 22 players are present. There is a small treasure awaiting at the Upsala Golf Club, the tournament venue, for those who are behind on their tasks or simply aspire to secure their positions, as could be the case for the Andalusian Rocco Repetto, currently ranked 16th.
– In addition to Rocco, there are twelve more Spaniards in the event: Javier Calles, Sebas García, Borja Virto, José Antonio Sintes, David Borda, Víctor García Broto, Adri Arnaus, Joseba Torres, Víctor Pastor, Álvaro Quirós, Lucas Vacarisas, and Javier Barcos.
– Adri Arnaus, ranked 41st, Sebas García, ranked 46th, and Víctor Pastor, ranked 48th, for example, have a good opportunity to break into or confirm their place among those top 45.
– The Upsala Golf Club is debuting as the tournament venue. It is a really short course by today’s standards (it doesn’t reach 6,200 metres).
