Parry adds the second victory and the Armada a great booty

The head-to-head that John Parry (-18) and Per Langfors (-18) have lived at the end of the Blot Open de Bretagne hosted at Golf Bluegreen in Pléneuf Val André. The English and Swedish have fought like jabatos for a victory that has fallen on Parry’s side in the first playoff hole. A bogey from the Swede has buried his chances of victory.

Rowing to end up drowned on the shore. Langfors started with a three-stroke disadvantage against a Parry who wanted to deliver a big blow to the annual ranking by signing his second victory of the year. The Swede wanted to prevent it and add the first of his career in the Challenge. Finally, the coin has fallen on the side of the Englishman who leaves well tied one of the twenty cards that give access to the DP World Tour. In fact, the moment he adds another victory he will go directly to the first division of European golf.

Nine holes of pure Match Play have been lived because the Englishman was losing all his advantage in the first round with a partial of +1. They arrived at the tee of hole 10 tied in the lead and with the next pursuer four strokes away. The reality is that they have copied the birdies on holes 11, 16 and 17 and signed the same pars on the other five holes. All tied. The tournament would be decided in the playoff. In the first playoff hole, the Swede stumbled with his first bogey of the day and served the victory on a silver platter to the Englishman. The Swede’s first will have to wait, Parry’s second of the year is already a fact. Only one year has lasted his descent to the ‘hells’.

Great final stretch of the tournament for Spanish interests. Lucas Vacarisas and Borja Virto with two cards of 67 and 62! strokes finish fourth and fifth respectively in the Plot Open de Bretagne. It’s not a victory, but it might as well be. Both players were far from aspiring to the final of the Road to Mallorca and with this result they get fully into the fight of the great final goal of the year. Ascending to the DP World Tour is the dream plan and after their week in Brittany it is something that enters the pools. We are almost at the halfway point of the season and it is necessary to locate oneself in the race for one of those twenty places.

Lucas Vacarisas has finally been fourth alone after signing a solid final round of three under par. He has been one of the most regular all week at the Open de Bretagne. The first nine holes of the day have been of a calm calm in which he has chained nine pars in a row. From there, four birdies and a bogey have definitely boosted him to the fourth final place. With this fourth place he adds 120 points and goes from 98th place to be right on the edge of the Final of the Road to Mallorca.

In a very similar situation is a Borja Virto who has given a real recital in Brittany today. He has signed the best round of the day at Blue Green Golf to climb 25 positions, finish in fifth position and add a great booty of points.

Virto started the round on fire. Two birdies in a row to start presaged a very low round. That’s when the unfortunate moment of the day came. The course was not going to be able to beat Borja, but the elements were. The fact is that on Thursday and Friday he had been able to place the ball in the street, but on the weekend it was no longer possible. With the inertia, Virto did not realize and has placed. Penalty stroke, first and only bogey of the day.

Not even the penalties were going to stop the Navarrese today. He knew how to make a clean slate and, from that moment, the Spaniard took out the violin for a walk giving a real golf exhibition. Especially inspired was the stretch between hole 10 and 17. Borja nailed it with six birdies in eight flags. On this course it is essential to be very fine from the tee to have options to attack the flags and that Virto today has done it perfectly. However, to make 62 strokes you have to be very fine in all aspects of the game and so the Navarrese player has shown.

The reality is that Virto had been flirting with such a result for several weeks. He started the year with a complicated streak as he was not able to make the cut in any of the first five tests of the season. In Abu Dhabi the inertia changed and the work began to bear fruit. Since then he has passed five cuts in six tests. Only Seville resisted him.

In the last three tests he has flirted with the top 10 (11th in Denmark and 13th in Odense). It’s over, he already has the first top 10 of the season. With this fifth place in France he adds 90 points and will climb many positions tomorrow in the Road to Mallorca. From the current 78th place he will go to the doors of the top 40 and possibly into the final of the Road to Mallorca. A great boost in the season and he is in a position to fight for something big.

Of the rest of the Spaniards, the final round of 68 strokes by Joel Moscatel (-2) stands out, who has finished tied in 33rd position with Javier Sainz (-2). One stroke behind has finished Emilio Cuartero Blanco (-1). Víctor Pastor (+2) has said goodbye to Brittany in 54th place.
