Rocco Repetto Taylor (-8) continues to progress in the Hainan Open of the HotelPlanner Tour. He has signed a card of 69 strokes on the second day and has moved into third position. He remains in a position to almost definitively secure his card for the DP World Tour for next year. Remember, a top 5 finish would practically suffice for him.

Repetto had a much more eventful round of golf today than yesterday. He made six birdies and three bogeys, making the most of the par 5s. With this result, he is fully in the fight for victory, just two strokes behind the tournament leader, the ‘Chinese’ Jan Schneider (-10), a German player based in the Red Country. In second position alone is the Dutchman Lars Van Meijel (-9). Schneider is not even a member of the HotelPlanner Tour, while Van Meijel has not yet guaranteed his presence in the grand Final in Mallorca.

Tied with Repetto in third position are the German Anton Albers, Per Langfors, and Stefano Mazzoli.

Beyond Repetto’s outstanding performance, the second day at the Sanya Luhuitou GC, on the island of Hainan, has left us with the brilliant card of 68 strokes from Sebastián García Rodríguez (-5). The Madrid native made five birdies and a solitary bogey. Also in a position to challenge for the top spots over the weekend are Quim Vidal (-4), who has only made one bogey in 36 holes, and Albert Boneta (-3), who today delivered a result of 72 strokes.

Meanwhile, Adri Arnaus (-1) and Lucas Vacarisas (-1) have made the cut, while Borja Virto (PAR), despite his great comeback today (68 strokes), and Víctor Pastor (+4) have missed out. The cut was set at one under par.
