Bryson DeChambeau is playing this week at the International Series in India, on the Asian Tour, a few days before the 2025 season of LIV Golf kicks off under the lights of Saudi Arabia. He is two under par, with two holes left to play due to lack of light, after the first day of competition, two shots off the lead. And taking advantage of his presence at the DLF Golf Club, he was asked if he would consider a hypothetical move to the TGL, the virtual golf league conceived by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy that started this month at the SoFi Center in Florida.
“It would be interesting,” said the Californian on bunkered.co. “I think the TGL is an interesting opportunity. I’m interested in anything that grows the game, so if it serves that purpose, fantastic. Although I don’t know all the numbers behind it,” admitted Bryson. “Would it be fun? Yes, it could be. But I don’t know if they would choose me, to be honest, I have no idea. I have a team in LIV, the Crushers GC, and yes, the Crushers would be part of something like that!” concluded DeChambeau.
For now, all the teams participating in the TGL are exclusively made up of PGA Tour players. It’s not easy to know if current LIV Golf members will have the opportunity to participate at some point (perhaps if an agreement between the American tour and the Saudi PIF is finalised, that possibility could also be unlocked). What is certain is that, after achieving some very interesting audience figures in its first four dates, the TGL would grow exponentially with players like DeChambeau.
