Wide smile and relaxed countenance. This is how Adri Arnaus greets Ten Golf at our telematic appointment. He looks happy, satisfied, in a great moment. He doesn’t even need to say it. It’s what he conveys. It’s the result of going through a very good personal and professional situation. The consequence also of being able to play golf without pain since last summer and of having been able to build what has probably been the best preseason of his career.
Whether it’s the best or not, we’ll have to wait for the results, but there’s no doubt that it’s been the most complete. He continues to work like a clock on technique and fitness, always hand in hand, always understanding one part with the other. “It’s been a global change. With the help of Kevin Duffy, with whom I’ve been working for a year and a half and who is able to break down every part of the swing, my knowledge about my movement has improved a lot. This allows me to deviate and return and make the curves as less pronounced as possible. I work better, with more quality, knowing what I need and with a very cool work team. With Kevin we have built the perfect bridge between technique and fitness. He simplifies it. His goal is that golf has to be as natural as possible, almost like walking. Then, the figure of Nacho Garrido is also key to be able to take all that to the field”, he assures.
“My feeling is that everything in my golf is aligning to be aggressive, go for it and be on Sundays fighting to win tournaments”
However, this preseason he has also done special work on the mental part. He has attended, along with his girlfriend Cristina, a coaching seminar led by Joe Dispenza, under the recommendation of his coach in this area Joseba del Carmen. “It hasn’t been a preseason just about getting strong and golf. I really liked pushing the mental issue as well. That experience in Mexico was very special, it has to do with meditation and other things and seeing it live was very good. I’m very eager to start”, he affirms.
“I want to play where the best are, if it’s on the PGA Tour, great, on the DP World Tour, splendid, and why not on LIV Golf”
Arnaus likes what he sees, although experience has made him prudent. “During my career I think it hasn’t been good for me every time I’ve anticipated things. Every time I’ve said I’m going for this and I have it in my sights, I don’t know if it’s been beneficial for me or the opposite. When I’m most comfortable on the field is when I don’t get ahead too much. So, it’s hard to say if I’m at the best moment of my career, we’ll see when the results come. I’m happy. What I do have clear is that my feeling is that everything is aligning well to be aggressive, go for it and be on Sundays fighting to win tournaments. The goal is to win every week and see where that takes us. The most positive thing is that every day I feel better than the previous one, I can’t complain. What I ask for is to always move forward and not stagnate. This year and a half tough with injuries has allowed me to see that to play golf, and especially if you have my swing speed, you have to be a physical wonder”, he highlights.
“I don’t know where the Jon Rahm team thing comes from, it’s not true that I’ve signed, there’s not even a tenth of what the news said”
Obviously, the topic of LIV Golf and Jon Rahm‘s team had to come up in a chat with Arnaus. Relevo published information at the end of the year in which they assured that Rahm had already closed the signing of the golfer from Moià. “I saw the news and I don’t know where it came from. It’s not true. I haven’t spoken to Jon directly, but I have asked Joseba del Carmen to speak to him and he still hasn’t confirmed the team. With me there’s nothing 100 percent, not 75 percent, not twenty, not a tenth. I don’t know where it comes from”, he clarifies.
However, Adri makes it very clear that the doors of LIV Golf are open and he would be delighted, if the time comes and if the right conditions are met, to play again with Jon as they did when they were amateurs. “It’s true that I had the opportunity to play some LIV tournaments in the past and I didn’t do it because at that time I had other priorities. I was qualified for three Majors and there was also the option of the Ryder Cup. If I went to LIV, those doors closed and I didn’t want to. However, now I see it with different eyes and I wouldn’t mind, golf is changing a lot, especially after Jon’s step, I’m not qualified for any Major at the moment and I do want to play with the best, because when I have, when the tournaments have been more demanding and the players better, I have given my best. There are very good players there and it would be a cool challenge”, he affirms.

Having said that, Arnaus also wants to make it clear that he is delighted on the DP World Tour and that he would love to also play on the PGA Tour. Basically, he doesn’t close any door to play with the best. “Right now what there is is that I play the Dubai Invitational next week and then the Desert Classic and that I’m very eager to start. Hopefully the year will be good and I can join Jorge Campillo in his adventure on the PGA Tour. What he has done has been a feat and has shown that it can be achieved by playing good golf. What I want is to play with the best and if it’s on the PGA Tour, great, if it’s on the DP World Tour, splendid and why can’t it also be on LIV Golf”, he emphasizes.
The most important thing, wherever Adri plays, is that technically, physically and mentally he is on the perfect path to be one of those great players he now refers to. If he maintains this line, soon others will say I want to play where Arnaus is. Because that’s where the best will be.
