– Ángel Ayora (-9) has been the Swede’s playing partner in these first two rounds and has not been too far from the leader. The young Andalusian has not yet completed even fifty tournaments in the first division and is in search of his first victory. He too has left the doors open for the weekend. Ayora delivered a good score of 69 strokes this morning, which undoubtedly gains even more value considering how uncomfortable he felt from the tee. Something was not quite right with the lower body. Not even the sensations were normal on some holes where he did hit the fairway, but more due to a last-minute hand action than the natural fluidity of his powerful and aesthetic swing.
In this regard, it is worth noting a point. Ángel has already confessed on some occasion his admiration for Pablo Larrazábal, from whom he tries to imitate a fundamental maxim that simply consists of trying to make as few mistakes as possible when you do not have your best game, when the swing is not quite in sync. The morning round was not much more generous with the Spanish Armada, as they missed the cut Eugenio Chacarra (PAR), Alejandro Del Rey (+1), Manu Elvira (+1), Ángel Hidalgo (+1), Quim Vidal (+2), Iván Cantero (+3), Sebas García (+4) and Rocco Repetto (+5).
