Today marks the start of the first stage of the DP World Tour School, which is staggered across ten different venues. Today, the first two come into play, one at the Hulencourt Golf in Genappe, Belgium, and the other at the The Players Club in Bristol, England (from 26th to 29th August).
At the English venue, we have the presence of two Spanish players, Galician Antón Vázquez Muiños and Andalusian Manuel Morugán, who will compete over four days (there is a cut after the second, mind you) to climb up the leaderboard and secure a spot in the second stage or semi-finals of the School, which will be held, as usual, at four Spanish venues during October. Normally, based on the number of participants in Bristol, the top fifteen will achieve the goal, although this figure is not officially confirmed.
Similarly, we have another six Spaniards at the Belgian venue in Hulencourt. Namely: Christian Asensio, Alejandro Rodríguez Andreu, Alfonso Buendía, Borja Martín, Marc Sabrià, and Juan Carlos García, who also need to finish among the top twelve or fifteen (in Belgium, the number of participants is smaller) to make it to the semi-finals.
These eight Spaniards are just the first of the 38 who are registered to compete in this first stage of the School at its ten venues, from today and throughout September. Here is the list of the other thirty who are registered:
