Sergio García will return to the DP World Tour in two weeks. It will be his first tournament after losing his membership status for not meeting the minimum required by the tour in 2025. The golfer from Borriol has confirmed that he will compete in the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship which will take place from 29 January to 1 February at the Royal Golf Club in Bahrain, a course where last year Laurie Canter won in a playoff against Spaniard Pablo Larrazábal and Englishman Daniel Brown.

Sergio will play with an invitation, as he currently does not have a category on the European tour. According to the Spanish golfer himself, during a telematic appearance of the entire Fireballs team before a selection of Spanish journalists, it will not be his only appearance on the DP World Tour during 2026. He also plans to request a few more invitations from September onwards, once the season in LIV Golf ends. Therefore, it is not out of the question that we will see him again at the Open de España and in some other autumn tournaments of the tour.

The Masters champion is not the only one who has revealed his plans for 2026 in terms of schedule. David Puig, Josele Ballester, and Luis Masaveu, the other three Spanish members of the Fireballs, have also shared their intentions. Puig, as is already known, will play the Dubai Invitational and the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. From here, he plans to focus all his efforts on LIV and the Majors until July. Once the Open is over, his idea is to alternate tournaments of the DP World Tour with the Asian Tour in the second half of the year.

Meanwhile, Josele has confirmed that he has requested an invitation to the DP World Tour to play the Desert Classic in Dubai and the Bahrain Championship, like Sergio. Initially, although it is not completely ruled out, it seems very unlikely that he will be granted the Rolex Series one to be played at the Emirates Golf Club next week, and there are more chances of getting the Bahrain one, although nothing has been confirmed yet. He is waiting. Luis Masaveu, on the other hand, will wait for the conclusion of the LIV Golf season. From August onwards, he will request an invitation, and if granted, he will be seen on the European tour.
