The India Open will be the second of the five events that make up the Asian Swing of the DP World Tour as part of the revamped Race to Dubai 2024, where each of the five Global Swings will have its own identity and its own champion, each of whom will win 200,000 dollars. Each winner will also qualify for the Back 9 events.

The Hero Indian Open returned to the Race to Dubai in February 2023 for the first time since 2019 and the German Marcel Siem ended a wait of almost nine years for a European Tour title with an emotional victory in New Delhi. The event will celebrate its 57th edition in 2024, extending the long-term relationship of Hero MotoCorp with the European Tour, which began in 2015.

Ben Cowen, commercial tournament director of the DP World Tour, assured that “we are delighted to add the Hero Indian Open to the Race to Dubai and complete the Asian Swing. I must thank Hero MotoCorp and Dr. Pawan Munjal for their unwavering support to this tournament and the DP World Tour. Dr. Munjal’s vision and commitment to our sport are unsurpassed and we look forward to working together on the India Open once again”.

Bharatendu Kabi, Director of Corporate Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility of Hero MotoCorp, said: “Having been part of the National Open of India for almost two decades, we have seen how the tournament experienced significant growth and gained prominence over the years. It is truly satisfying to see it once again be part of the Race to Dubai. The Hero Indian Open has played a pivotal role in fostering the rapid development of golf in our country, providing a global platform for emerging golfers to showcase their talents and skills”, he affirmed.

The Asian Tour will begin with the Singapore Classic from March 21 to 24, before heading to India (from March 28 to 31 and again at the DLF Golf & Country Club in New Delhi), to South Korea, to the ISPS Handa in Japan and, finally, to China for the return of the Volvo China Open. The five Global Swings are followed by the Back 9, and the season is completed with the DP World Tour Play Offs.
