DP World, an international logistics company, and the European Tour have announced the celebration of the DP World India Championship, a new tournament with a purse of 4 million dollars, the highest ever offered for a DP World Tour event in India. The news previously reported by Ten Golf is officially confirmed. The Estrella Damm Andalucía Masters, after eight consecutive years on the Tour calendar, both at the Real Club Valderrama and the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, has been replaced by this tournament in India.
The tournament will be held from 16 to 19 October at the historic Delhi Golf Club, and will be co-sanctioned with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). It will be part of the final stretch of the 2025 Race to Dubai calendar, known as the Back 9, following the initial phase called Global Swings.
The DP World India Championship highlights India’s growing influence as an elite golf destination and as a strategic market for DP World. The announcement comes after the Hero Indian Open, won by the Spaniard Eugenio Chacarra, and reinforces the Tour’s momentum in the region.
The tournament also marks the return of the DP World Tour to the Delhi Golf Club for the first time since 2016. Originally founded in the 1930s, the Lodhi Championship Course hosted the first edition of the Indian Open in 1964. It was redesigned by Peter Thomson in 1977 and later enhanced by Gary Player Design in 2019.

The DP World India Championship will be the eighth of the nine tournaments in the final Back 9 stretch of the Race to Dubai 2025, culminating with the DP World Tour Play-Offs and the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai.
