Your prediction about the Spaniards at the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship could win you a very special tournament break from 5 to 8 December in El Rompido. Two courses, a five-star hotel and much more than golf. You only have to pick five names, order them and tell us in which position each will finish
At Ten Golf we want to invite you to a top-class long weekend with Mis Torneos de Golf Y the road to El Rompido starts next week in Abu Dhabi. The Spaniards will hit the shots; you will have to show your ability to anticipate what will happen. The best prediction will be rewarded with an invitation to take part in the V Torneo MTDG Andalucía, one of those events for which it’s worth booking more than a morning to play
The challenge revolves around the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship, which will be played from 5 to 8 November at Yas Links, next week, with nine Spaniards among the participants. You will have to choose the five you think will finish highest, place them in the correct order and predict their final positions in the tournament’s overall leaderboard
There will be points for predicting the winner, for nailing positions and also for choosing the members of that Spanish five correctly. The one with the most points will take the invitation But before explaining the scoring, here’s the prize. Because the plan deserves it
A December long weekend with two courses and a five-star hotel
The V Torneo MTDG Andalucía will be held from Saturday 5 to Tuesday 8 December 2026 in El Rompido, Huelva, with the Precise Resort El Rompido Costa de la Luz, a five-star hotel, as accommodation and the two layouts of Golf El Rompido as the competition venues
On Sunday 6 a team scramble on the North course will be played. On Monday 7 it will be time for the individual Stableford on the South course. Two 18-hole courses and two different formats: first, share strategy and celebrate your teammates’ good shots; then, test your own game
The event programme includes three nights’ accommodation with breakfast, three dinners and daily access to the spa’s water area. Arrival will be on Saturday and departure on Tuesday after breakfast. In between: golf, rest, good company and time to enjoy everything around the tournament
And since it’s Mis Torneos de Golf, the catering is no minor detail. At the 9½ hole you will find the ham carver, the venenciadora and the traditional MTDG callos with chickpeas. A show. There will also be a welcome pack, special prizes for the nearest-to-the-pin and the longest drive, a prize-giving ceremony, a raffle and a farewell party
The tournament raffle will include gear from XXIO, Cleveland and Srixon, Garmin watches and golf stays, plus a headline prize: a trip to Madeira with five nights, flights and green fees, courtesy of Yutravel. That trip is part of the event raffle; the prize for our game is the invitation to take part in the El Rompido tournament
In addition, the winners of the individual men’s, women’s and scratch categories will be invited to the 2027 edition. So this year’s break could end up opening the door to the next. Now that is a top-level long weekend

The nine Spaniards you must choose from
These are the nine Spaniards listed on the DP World Tour official entry for the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship:
- Alejandro del Rey
- Ángel Ayora
- Ángel Hidalgo
- David Puig
- Eugenio Chacarra
- Jon Rahm
- Jorge Campillo
- Manuel Elvira
- Nacho Elvira
You must choose five of these nine names Selecting them is not enough: you must order them from the one you think will be the top Spanish finisher to the one you expect to be the fifth best Spanish finisher, and indicate next to each their predicted final position in the tournament’s overall leaderboard
These are two separate predictions. For example, you can pick a player as the third best Spaniard and twelfth in the overall standings. The third refers to his place among the Spaniards; the twelfth is his position counting all the participants
How points are earned
Each of your five players can give you points according to this system:
| Points | Correct prediction |
|---|---|
| 20 points | You predict a Spaniard will win the tournament and he actually does |
| 10 points | You get his exact position in the tournament’s overall standings right and he is among the top five |
| 3 points | He finishes among the five best Spaniards and occupies the place you assigned him among them (first, second, third, fourth or fifth). This is not cumulative. If you get the exact position and he is among the top 5 you will score 10 points. If you only get the order in your list right, it will be 3 |
| 1 point | He finishes among the five best Spaniards, but you have not got his order among them nor his position in the overall standings right |
| 0 points | None of the above applies |
Scores are not cumulative for the same player. Only the highest applicable score will be applied
That is, if you predicted the winner, that player will give you 20 points and no more. You do not add another ten for getting his position right nor three for having him as the best Spaniard. If you get an exact position you will receive ten points, without adding the lower categories. And if you only get his order among the five best Spaniards right, it will be three points, not four
What is added up is the score obtained from each of your five picks. The participant who finishes with the most points will win the invitation
It is also not compulsory to predict a Spanish victory You can place your best Spaniard in any position in the overall standings. The twenty points will only come into play when you have expressly predicted that one of your picks will be the champion and you are correct
In the unlikely event of a tie on points for first place, the tiebreak will go to the person who has picked the highest-ranked Spaniard in the tournament. First the first pick will be reviewed, then the second, the third and so on up to the fifth. The one whose selection has the best finishes in the Abu Dhabi tournament will win the tiebreak. If the tie still remains, for example because the selection is identical, a draw will be made among those tied
An example to see it at a glance
Imagine you choose Ángel Ayora as the third best Spaniard and twelfth in the overall standings
If he finishes twelfth you will score ten points. If he finishes in another position but is the third Spaniard, you will get three points. If you do not get that order right either, but Ayora is among the five best Spaniards, you will score one point. If you neither get the overall position nor does he make that five, he will not score
You do not need to get everything right to win A good selection can keep you in the running, although accuracy in the positions will make a difference

The deadline is when the tournament starts
The participation period will end at the moment the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship begins, on Thursday 5 November The reference will be the start of the tournament, not the tee time of the first Spaniard or any of your picks
Once the first stroke of the competition has been played, no new predictions will be accepted
You already have the nine names, you know the scoring system and you know what awaits you in El Rompido. Now it’s time to decide who arrives in the best form, who might spring a surprise and which five Spaniards cannot be missing from your selection
