Quail Hollow crowns the new champion of the PGA Championship this Sunday. The second major of the season celebrates its final round, with the World Number One, Scottie Scheffler, as the undisputed leader of the leaderboard and the rival to beat. A title he does not have in his trophy cabinet, which includes two Masters Tournament wins, and which players like Jon Rahm will try to take from him in the decisive 18 holes.
The famous Wanamaker Trophy is at stake, exemptions for important events, and above all, a substantial cash prize, which has increased since the last edition of the tournament. A year ago, the winner, Xander Schauffele, took home a cheque worth 3.33 million dollars. Whoever manages to win this Sunday in Charlotte, South Carolina, will receive a cash prize of 3.42 million dollars.
The total purse of the tournament has increased from 18.5 million in the 2024 edition to 19 million this year. The runner-up, if they occupy the position alone, will receive a reward of 2.052 million dollars; while for the third place, under the same conditions, the cheque will be 1.292 million. The more than 70 players who made the cut will receive a prize based on their final ranking.
