The Ryder Cup 2027 has already begun to break records long before the first shot is struck at Adare Manor. Daily tickets for the competition days, put on sale this Tuesday through an exclusive priority window for residents of the island of Ireland, sold out in less than an hour.
Excitement for the next European Ryder Cup is huge. According to the organisers, more than 150,000 people from across the island of Ireland had pre-registered to gain early access to this first phase of sales, in which a limited number of tickets were available strictly on a first-come, first-served basis from 11:00.
It wasn’t only the competition day tickets that sold out. Tickets for the practice days and the weekly passes available within this exclusive window for Irish fans also sold out in less than four hours.
The good news for those who were unable to secure tickets in this first opportunity is that they will have a second option. The general public ballot to acquire daily general admission tickets will open to fans worldwide next Wednesday 3 June.
Richard Atkinson, Chief Ryder Cup Officer of the European Tour Group, highlighted the extraordinary response from Irish fans: “The demand from fans across the island of Ireland has been unprecedented. We know that Irish golf fans are among the most enthusiastic in the world and this is another reminder of that”.
Atkinson added that the organisation is already looking towards the beginning of June, when residents in Ireland will have a new opportunity and fans from around the world will be able to try to secure their attendance at one of the great events in world sport.
The 2027 Ryder Cup will also have a very special historic component. It will be the centenary edition of the competition and will be held at Adare Manor, in County Limerick, Ireland, from 13 to 19 September 2027.
It will be the second time the Ryder Cup is contested in Ireland, after the unforgettable edition of 2006 at The K Club, where Europe achieved one of its most emphatic victories.
The organisers remind that all fans who wish to attend the 2027 Ryder Cup must have a registered ticket account. Through that registration all details of the application process will be sent. It is also emphasised that only tickets purchased through the official Ryder Cup channels will be valid. In addition, information about official accommodation will be provided within the ticket application process itself.
