For the second consecutive day, the weather did not favor the participants of the Aramco Korea Championship, a tournament being held at the New Korea Country Club in South Korea. The low temperatures and rain made things very difficult, and although there were more under-par rounds than on the opening day, only eleven players managed to finish with an overall score under par.
The one who took the most advantage this Saturday was South Korea’s Hyo Joo Kim (-4), who, playing on home soil, replicated her opening round of 70 to take the solo lead in the individual standings. She sits one shot ahead of South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace (-3) and two shots clear of Ecuador’s Daniela Darquea (-2) and France’s Perrine Delacour (-2). In total, eleven golfers are within just three strokes, setting up an exciting final round battle for the individual title on Sunday.

For the Spanish players, fighting for the title is now practically out of reach. María Hernández (+2), who shot even par today, and Luna Sobrón (+2), who carded a 74, are tied for 26th place, and their most realistic goal for Sunday is to battle for a top-10 finish. Nuria Iturrioz (+4), also even par today, and Teresa Toscano (+5), who struggled with a 77 after a strong start to the tournament, also made the cut for the top 60 and ties.

Marta Sanz (+8), Ana Peláez (+9), Marta Martín (+12), Carmen Alonso (+13), and Blanca Fernández (+20) did not reach the seven-over-par cut line required to continue in the individual tournament and have ended their participation in this Korean event, which also saw the conclusion of the team competition today.
The team led by Sara Kouskova (-21), along with Brianna Navarrosa, Patricia Isabel Schmidt, and Lee-Anne Pace, won by one stroke over Delacour’s team.
