Sara Kouskova (-9) has achieved victory at the Jabra Ladies Open, a tournament on the Ladies European Tour held from Thursday to Saturday at the Evian Resort Golf Club in France. The Czech golfer, who had won a couple of team events, the most recent this year at the Aramco Korea Championship, marks her first individual win on the circuit, where until now, after two full seasons and the current one, she had eight top-10 finishes.
The player from Prague had to secure her victory in the last two holes of the tournament, which she faced with a one-shot deficit against Singaporean Shanon Than (-7). The Asian player finished her tournament with two bogeys, on the 17th and 18th of the prestigious Evian-Les-Bains course, while Kouskova managed to save par on the 17th and sign off with a final birdie on the 18th to win by two strokes over Shanon, Moroccan Maha Haddioui (-7), who led the leaderboard during this final round, and English Cara Gaine (-7).
Swiss Chiara Tamburlini (-5), who started the day leading the leaderboard, couldn’t secure the win, with her mother acting as caddie, after a poor Saturday where she played two over par, with three bogeys and a single birdie. Kouskova‘s 68, with four birdies and one bogey, was enough to lift the trophy, her first individual in her 61st tournament on the tour, and to continue climbing in the Order of Merit, where she was 13th at the start of the week.
Among the Spanish players who made the Friday cut, Luna Sobrón (-3) ended up being the best in the final tournament standings. The Majorcan repeated Saturday’s result from yesterday, a card of 69 strokes, two under par, with five birdies and three bogeys, for a total of three under in the tournament. She narrowly missed a top 10, which she has achieved five times this season, but gained valuable points for the Order of Merit, where she started the week as the 28th ranked.

The initial dream of Amaia Latorre (-2) after her brilliant tournament start with 66 strokes on Thursday started to fade from the second round. Today she had to settle for a round of 72 strokes, one over par with two birdies and three bogeys, for a total of two under. A result that drops her to a tied 17th position in the final tournament standings. She could have achieved something better, but it remains her best-ever position in the Ladies European Tour.
Teresa Toscano (+1) finished in a tied 34th position after repeating a par round, 71 strokes, as she did yesterday; Marta Sanz (+6) fell to a tied 51st position after playing three over par today, in a round of 74 strokes; Nuria Iturrioz (+7) and María Hernández (+7) shared the 54th place, both signing a round of 74 strokes to close the tournament; while Harang Lee (+11) was 68th, the last of the players who made the cut, with a final card of 78 strokes.
