The moving day at the Amundi German Masters has not been particularly productive for any of the five Spanish players who made the cut on Friday. Only one of them, Luna Sobrón (-2), managed to play under par at the challenging Green Eagle Golf Courses. However, neither she nor Carla Bernat (-2), who couldn’t maintain her spectacular birdie production from yesterday, will start the final round with real chances of fighting for the tournament victory.
The Mallorcan and the Castellonian, however, will have a very good opportunity to try to leave Germany with at least a good top 10 finish in their pocket, a position that is within reach on the leaderboard. Luna signed a card of 72 strokes today, with five birdies and four bogeys, while Carla had to settle for a round at par, 73 strokes, with three birdies and three bogeys, unable to continue the momentum from her impressive second day of competition.

The battle for the win seems reserved for a small group of players, with Singaporean Shannon Tan (-12) as the main favourite. After two rounds under par, the young 21-year-old player from Texas Tech University recorded her best score of the week today, a 68, five under par, with seven birdies and two bogeys, to lead the leaderboard by three strokes over English Hannah Screen (-9).
Her compatriot Alice Hewson (-8) and German Helen Briem (-8) hope they haven’t said their last word in a tournament that offers 300,000 euros in prizes and where Tan is seeking what would be her second victory on the circuit, after winning the Magical Kenya Ladies Open last year. The Spanish contingent is completed by Nuria Iturrioz (+4), who shot 75 today, Blanca Fernández (+5), also with 75 this Saturday, and Marta Sanz (+7), who struggled with a round of 79.
