Chiara Tamburlini (-12) has fulfilled all predictions in Taiwan. The Swiss golfer has dominated the final round of the Wistron Ladies Open with an iron fist and claimed victory decisively. There was never any doubt about who would lift the trophy. She started with a four-shot lead and never lost the lead, finishing with the same four-shot margin over local golfer Hou Yu-Sang (-8).
The only somewhat tense moment occurred on the 9th hole. A bogey by Tamburlini on the 7th and a birdie by Emma Sptiz on the 8th brought the Austrian within one shot of the lead. However, that was short-lived. Sptiz made a bogey on the 10th, and the Swiss golfer sealed the contest with three consecutive birdies between holes 11 and 13. The End. The last five holes were a walk in the park for the absolute leader of the Ladies European Tour.
This is Tamburlini’s third victory this season in the LET. She has further strengthened her lead in the order of merit. Right now, she has almost a thousand-point lead over Belgian Manon de Roey, who is in second place. This top 10 gives her a new boost in the LET ranking. She is now in twelfth place, fully engaged in the battle for that final top 10.
Finally, Ana Peláez (-2) finished with a great round of 68 strokes in twentieth place, and Nuria Iturrioz (-1) also beat the course with a scorecard of 70 strokes, finishing in 22nd place.
