Only 22 of the 128 players who completed the second round of the Jabra Ladies Open did so playing under par. A record that confirms the difficulties they are encountering this week at the French Evian Resort Golf Club. The prestigious course located next to Lake Geneva, in the heart of the French Alps, is defending itself wonderfully and is pushing the participants to their limits even in better weather conditions than yesterday.
The best with 18 holes remaining to complete the tournament, which is played over three rounds, is Swiss player Chiara Tamburlini (-7), winner of the Order of Merit of the Ladies European Tour last season. To her notable start to the tournament yesterday, with 67 strokes in more challenging playing conditions, she added a very good round of 68 today to lead the standings by one stroke over Czech Sara Kouskova (-6) and two over Singaporean Shannon Tan (-5).
Tamburlini is seeking her fourth title on the circuit after winning the Joburg Ladies Open, the Lacoste Ladies Open de France, and the Wistron Ladies Open in 2024. The Swiss star hopes to enjoy her last day in France, with her mother as caddie, before heading to the United States to compete in the US Women’s Open next week. “On this course, it’s important to find the fairways to have more opportunities, and it’s not necessary to force too much from the tee,” she said after her round.

As for the Spanish players present at this French LET event, Alava’s Amaia Latorre (-3) couldn’t maintain her birdie production from yesterday, but despite handing in a card of 73 strokes, two over par, she managed to stay in the top 10 of the standings. Positions that Luna Sobrón (-1) aspires to, who with 69 strokes this Friday, has climbed 17 positions on the leaderboard to already be among the top 20 and ready to keep climbing in the final round.
Teresa Toscano (+2), who played to par today, Marta Sanz (+3), who shot 72 strokes, one over par, Harang Lee (+4), and Nuria Iturrioz (+4), with 74 strokes each this Friday, as well as María Hernández (+4), who needed 75 to complete the course at Évian-les-Bains, managed to make the cut and will complete the tournament this Saturday. Ana Peláez (+5) misses it by one stroke, while Clara Moyano (+7), Paz Marfá (+7), Blanca Fernández (+8), Carmen Alonso (+8), and Marta Martín (+9) are also out.
