Alexandra Forsterling (-12) has unanimously won the Aramco Team Series in Florida that was held at the Feather Sound Country Club in Tampa. The German signed an extraordinary final round of 67 strokes and won with a three-stroke lead over the English Charley Hull (-9), four over the also English Bronte Law (-8) and five over the Spaniards Carlota Ciganda (-7) and Ana Peláez (-7).

This is Forsterling’s third victory on the Ladies European Tour in just over a year as a professional. The evolution of the 24-year-old Berlin golfer is extraordinary. She turned pro in December 2022, won the LET School, got the card and in her rookie year achieved two victories in Switzerland and Mallorca. She was just a handful of points away from being named rookie of the year… She lost it to Trichat Cheenglab, who not only took that title, but also the absolute one.

Well, now Forsterling, who already had a very brilliant amateur career, has changed screens. She levels up. She has won a tournament where some of the best in the world were present, several Solheim golfers and in the United States, the place she is called to play sooner rather than later. Her victory today is a statement. Loud. First, she presents her candidacy for the Solheim, watch out for her, and second, she proves that she is already prepared to win major tournaments.

It has been an unequivocal triumph. On a day where conditions have been more complicated, especially for the last matches, with more wind, Forsterling has made 67 strokes, with six birdies and a solitary bogey. She has taken four from Hull or Peláez and five from Ciganda. Another dimension. She won from start to finish. She started very well, with three birdies in seven holes, made her only bogey on the 8th and then sealed her victory with three birdies between holes 12 and 16. Unappealable. By the way, she likes to be called Lexi. She is the European Lexi. The American finished in eleventh place.

Great performance by Carlota Ciganda (-7) and Ana Peláez (-7). It is true that at no time have they managed to get into the fight for victory this Sunday, but their tied fourth place is a great harvest. It is Carlota’s best result in 2024 and Ana’s second top 4 in just four tournaments. The golfer from Malaga continues to strengthen her candidacy for the Solheim every week.

Carlota has handed in a card of 72 strokes, with three birdies and three bogeys, while Peláez has made 71, with three birdies and two bogeys. She just lacked a little more success with the putter in the last seven holes to have even finished a little higher. In any case, with this result she already enters the top 10 of the LET order of merit.

As for the rest of the Spaniards, Fátima Fernández Cano (+2) and María Hernández (+2) have shared the 39th position, with rounds of 71 and 72 strokes, Marta Sanz (+3) has finished 43rd, with a final round of 75 and Carmen Alonso (+7) has had a tough day at the office, with a card of 79 strokes, 55th position.
