The Ladies European Tour confirmed yesterday that the La Sella Open will return to the calendar this year. With a prize pool of one million euros, the event will be hosted for the second consecutive year at the La Sella Golf Resort course, in Denia, Alicante, one of the most prestigious golf courses on the Mediterranean coast.
It will be the 25th tournament on the LET calendar and is scheduled for the week following the Solheim Cup, from 19 to 22 September this 2024. In its inaugural edition, in July of last year, the Majorcan Nuria Iturrioz beat German Laura Fuenfstueck in the playoff to win a cheque worth 150,000 euros at a resort where the spectacular Hotel Denia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort & Spa is also located.
This idyllic enclave has hosted numerous relevant tournaments in the past, such as the European Nations Cup, a team tournament that was held from 2008 to 2011, and the Rookie Orientation Week between 2015 and 2018. This new edition of the tournament reaffirms La Sella Golf’s commitment to professional women’s golf.
