The year 2025, which is coming to an end, didn’t start in the best possible way for Jon Rahm. The Spaniard missed the cut at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic of the DP World Tour, his first tournament of the year. However, he was then able to turn things around by winning the individual title at LIV Golf, the team title with his Legion XIII, and leaving a good impression in three of the four majors of the season, with a tied 14th place at the Masters, a tied 8th place at the PGA Championship, and a tied 7th place at the US Open (in the Open Championship he could only manage a tied 34th place).

For the new season, the man from Barrika wants to start strong. And although there’s no chance of him being caught off guard in the first tournaments of the European circuit, which he has decided not to play this time, he is already working intensely to try to have a great 2026. He is making an effort to the point of not skipping the gym even on Christmas Day, as he confirmed this Thursday by sharing a video on his social media profiles from his home gym, training while enjoying a NBA game between the San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder on television.

“I don’t usually do this, but let’s give it a try. Here we are, on Christmas Day, doing barbell rows and step ups. For those who don’t believe it, the Spurs and OKC are playing right now, in the second quarter, a fun game,” Jon began saying in his video. Then, he sent a positive message for the new year to his followers: “I want to say that it has been a fantastic year for me. If it hasn’t been a great year for any of you watching this, stay strong, good things will come, and I wish you all the best for 2026.”

The new season will begin for the man from Barrika on the 4th of February at the Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia, with the LIV Golf Riyadh, the first tournament of 2026 in the Saudi tour, which will already be played over four rounds. In his mind, once again, is to fight for the individual and team titles, and above all to be as well-prepared as possible for the four Majors, while he awaits a definitive resolution to the ongoing legal conflict with the DP World Tour regarding the fines following his appeal, something expected in the coming weeks that could affect his schedule.
