LIV Golf will return to South Africa in 2027. The circuit announced on Sunday that LIV Golf South Africa will return to The Club at Steyn City from 22 to 25 April 2027, after the impact this week of the tournament’s first edition on South African soil.

LIV bases this continuity on two elements. One, that Steyn City will remain the venue for the tournament. The other, the attendance success of this first edition, which according to the circuit’s data is on track to exceed 100,000 spectators and to set a new historic high for a professional golf event in South Africa.

The announcement was made before the tournament’s final day, at a press conference that included, among others, the CEO of LIV Golf, Scott O’Neil, South Africa’s Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, and representatives of Southern Guards GC and Steyn City Properties.

LIV views this fixture as an established date in its calendar. O’Neil said that the return in 2027 is “a moment of pride” for the circuit and emphasised that the debut in South Africa has confirmed the country’s potential as a golf market, both in terms of sporting culture and of talent and spectator response. In that same statement he also highlighted the economic impact and the community involvement generated by the tournament.

The organisation insists that the public’s response has been one of the main arguments for this continuity. During the weekend tickets sold out in what was the circuit’s first event in Africa.
