How many tournaments have LIV Golf players won outside their circuit since the Saudi league started in June 2022? At TenGolf, we have reviewed absolutely all the tournaments played outside their circuit by the 54 players who finished the year 2024 within LIV Golf (although some of them may already be out for 2025), and the figures are very interesting. And positive.
– Let’s look at the big numbers. In total, these 54 players have won 21 tournaments in other circuits since LIV Golf has existed. One in 2022, ten in 2023, and another ten in 2024, pending the outcome of the remaining tournaments this year in which at least one LIV player participates, such as this week’s Australian Open.
– The percentage is remarkable. Since June 2022, at least one of these 54 players has participated in 96 different tournaments from other circuits valid for the world ranking, so the figure of 21 victories yields a 21.87 percent win rate, which is not bad at all.
– Evidently, the crown jewels of the Saudi league were the victories of Brooks Koepka in the 2023 PGA and Bryson DeChambeau in the 2024 US Open. In this regard, the percentages remain: since the creation of LIV, ten majors have been played, and the Saudi league claims two victories, a 20 percent.
– In total, there are 509 appearances by these 54 LIV Golf players in the 96 tournaments of other circuits where they have played.
– Sixteen LIV players have achieved those 21 victories. Only four have won more than once. South African Dean Burmester is the only one who has won three times (Joburg Open 2023 and South African Open 2023 of the DP World Tour; and the Vodacom 2024 of the Sunshine Tour). Additionally, Louis Oosthuizen, Carlos Ortiz, and David Puig have won twice. The South African did so at the Alfred Dunhill 2023 and the Afrasia 2023, both of the European circuit; the Mexican at the Copa Prissa 2023 of the Mexican professional circuit and the International Series Oman 2024; and the Spaniard won the International Series Singapore 2023 and the Malaysian Open 2024.
– The 21 victories are distributed as follows: seven in the Asian Tour, in 29 tournaments; another seven in the DP World Tour, in 36 tournaments; two in the ten Majors played; two in the Sunshine Tour, from three appearances; one in the Japan Tour, in 13 tournaments; one in the PGA Tour of Australasia, from two tournaments, and one more in the Mexican professional circuit.
