This week, the LIV Golf Andalucía is taking place at the Real Club de Valderrama, and we will have five Spanish participants. The latest to join the train is Luis Masaveu. The Madrid golfer has been a last-minute signing for Bubba Watson’s team (Range Goats) to replace Matthew Wolff. Initially, it is only for this tournament, although we will have to see what happens in the future, as neither the Saudi league nor the team itself specify the reason for Wolff’s absence.
Thus, we will have five Spaniards playing in the Sotogrande coliseum from next Friday to Sunday. Masaveu joins Sergio García, David Puig, and Josele Ballester, who play with the Fireballs, and Jon Rahm, captain of Legion XIII.

Masaveu is not new to LIV Golf. In fact, he started the season with Sergio García’s Fireballs until he was replaced by Josele Ballester before the Virginia tournament in early June. Luis has played a total of eight tournaments this year in LIV Golf, and his best result has been a 14th place in the Singapore event. Additionally, he has two more top 25 finishes, in Miami and South Korea. Once out of the team, he also played the Virginia tournament as a replacement for David Puig, who was undergoing medical tests due to issues that almost prevented him from playing the PGA Championship.
As it stands, the only tournament Masaveu has missed in the Saudi league in 2025 was the one in Dallas. We will see what happens in the future, but both for his performance and his impeccable behaviour, he has earned the consideration of the Saudi league to always be on standby in case there is a vacancy in a team, as has happened this week with Matt Wolff in Valderrama.
