Majesticks Golf Club has confirmed this Thursday the continuity of Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood as co-captains of the team for the 2026 LIV Golf season. Both British golfers, key figures since the project’s inception, will continue to lead the team alongside the new addition, Laurie Canter, in a phase the team approaches with renewed ambition.
Poulter and Westwood boast more than 60 years of combined professional experience and have been instrumental in building the identity, culture, and global positioning of Majesticks GC. Their leadership has set the competitive standards of the team since the circuit’s inception, providing a blend of experience, character, and strategic vision.
The contrast between the two is precisely one of the project’s great strengths. The calmness, technical solidity, and competitive resilience of Westwood complement the intensity, charisma, and passion of Poulter, forming one of the most influential leadership duos in current golf.
Poulter, a winner on both the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour and known for his strong competitive personality, expressed excitement about the renewal: “I have been part of the Majesticks Golf Club since day one and I am thrilled to continue this journey as a player and co-captain. What we have built here is special, with a clear long-term vision. LIV Golf has changed the game and renewing for 2026 was an easy decision.”
From the team’s management, James Dunkley highlighted the impact of the Englishman: “Ian sets standards, inspires everyone around him, and brings an energy and passion that gives us great confidence. Having him and Lee back for 2026 is a huge boost.”
For his part, Oliver Banks, co-director of the team, emphasised Poulter‘s unique value: “He is a leader, an innovator, and a personality that connects with fans. He perfectly represents what Majesticks Golf Club is.”
Westwood, former world number one and one of the most consistent players of recent decades, also celebrated his continuity: “It’s fantastic to continue this path with Majesticks GC. The team’s progression and LIV Golf in general has been incredible. I am fully committed to helping us keep moving forward in 2026, both on and off the course.”
Dunkley also highlighted Westwood’s significant role in the organisation: “Lee‘s influence is profound. His leadership is thoughtful, brings immense experience, and elevates our standards. Having one of the greats of golf strengthens our foundation for the next season.”
With the continuity of Poulter and Westwood and the arrival of Laurie Canter, Majesticks Golf Club consolidates its sporting and leadership project with the aim of making a competitive leap in the 2026 LIV Golf season.
