This Thursday, the five matches that will kick off the team final of LIV Golf in Dallas tomorrow have been established. As the rules of this last event of the course on the Saudi tour indicated, the teams placed between the fourth and the thirteenth place in the general team classification of the circuit after the regular season will face each other in search of a place in tomorrow’s semi-finals where the three best teams of the course are already waiting.

The way to create the quarter-final draw was as follows: from best to worst classified, the teams were choosing an opponent until the eliminatory rounds were completed. Thus, the Smash GC, fourth in the general, have chosen as their rival the Iron Heads GC, last. The Torque GC, fifth during the season, will face the HyFlyers GC, who finished penultimate. The Fireballs GC, sixth, have chosen the Majesticks GC, eleventh. The Stinger GC will face the Cleeks GC. While the RangeGoats GC will play for a place in the semi-finals against the 4Aces GC.

The game format will consist of two individual matches and one pairs match in foursomes mode (alternate shots). Each match will give one point to the winning team, so each team that reaches two points will be classified. An experience in the purest Ryder Cup style that for the Spaniards David Puig and Eugenio López-Chacarra will be greatly increased as they will face two players with a lot of history in the famous duels between Europe and United States.

The one from La Garriga will play one of the two individual matches of the Fireballs against Ian Poulter, legend of the Ryder. The Madridian, for his part, will face in the other cross face to face with Henrik Stenson, another star of the Old Continent team. The pairs match will be for Sergio García and Abraham Ancer, who will seek to become strong in the foursomes where the one from Borriol is an expert to overcome Lee Westwood, so many times his team mate in the Ryder, and Sam Horsfield.

The five teams that overcome this Friday’s cross will face on Saturday in the semi-finals the Crushers GC, the Legion XIII of Jon Rahm and the Ripper GC, exempt from the first round after being placed in the top three positions in the general during the regular season. The way to choose rivals will be the same, starting with the first classified and from there onwards until completing the draw. The winning teams on Saturday will fight on Sunday in stroke play, adding the results of all their members, for the first four places. The eliminated, for the fifth to eighth places. And those who fall tomorrow, for those from the ninth to the thirteenth. The excitement is served.

The most interesting duels of the quarters

In addition to the matches of the Spaniards of the Fireballs, tomorrow there will be very interesting individual duels such as those starring Brooks Koepka and Kevin Na, Joaquín Niemann and Andy Ogletree, Juan Sebastián Muñoz and Cameron Tringale, Branden Grace and Adrian Meronk, Peter Uihlein and Dustin Johnson or Thomas Pieters and Patrick Reed, among others, in addition to the foursomes matches that will undoubtedly give a Ryder aroma to the first two days of the team final of the LIV Golf season.
