Suffering until the last stroke, the Legion XIII led by Jon Rahm managed to overcome the quarter-final match against the Cleeks in the team final of LIV Golf in Michigan yesterday. The team of the champion from Barrika therefore remains in the fight to conquer the team title with which the Saudi tour closes the 2025 season this weekend. And as leaders of the overall standings after the regular calendar, the Spaniard’s team were the first to choose their opponent for the so-called Championship Bracket.

The Basque golfer has selected the HyFlyers of Phil Mickelson, Brendan Steele, Cameron Tringale, and Andy Ogletree as their opponent for this Saturday’s match. The team that wins will be one of the three competing tomorrow for the final team victory in the tour. The other two finalists will emerge from the matches between the Crushers of Bryson DeChambeau and the Smash of Brooks Koepka, and the duel between the Torque of Joaquín Niemann and the Stinger of Louis Oosthuizen.

The Fireballs of Sergio García, eliminated yesterday from the fight for the final victory, will also play this Saturday, although in their case in the Rankings Bracket, seeking a place in the fight for the 7th to 9th positions in the overall standings. They will face the Cleeks, who fell to Rahm’s Legion XIII. On Sunday, the format will return to stroke play, and the results of all team members will be added to determine the final positions in the overall standings.
