Jon Rahm has achieved victory in the Order of Merit of LIV Golf after finishing in second place in the tournament held this week in Indianapolis. Following the tradition of the famous race held annually in the city, he celebrated by drinking a bottle of milk when receiving the trophy that crowns him as the best player of the 2025 season in the Saudi tour despite not achieving individual victories.

The tradition of celebrating victory in the Indianapolis 500 with milk dates back to 1936, when driver Louis Meyer, after winning the race, requested a glass of buttermilk to refresh himself. A photographer captured the curious moment, and the Indiana Dairy Producers Association seized the opportunity to turn this curious gesture into a tradition on the circuit.

Before the LIV Golf tournament, Jon Rahm was asked if he would celebrate a hypothetical victory with milk. And although he did not win the event, after losing in the playoff to Colombian Juan Sebastián Muñoz, the Spaniard kept his word when it was time to receive the trophy as the circuit winner in 2025. Something he hopes to repeat in 2026, when the Saudi tour returns to Indianapolis.
