Sergio García has confirmed in an interview with Golf Magic that the Madrid native Eugenio López Chacarra will not continue in 2025 with the Fireballs GC team. It was news that had been speculated, but it was the player from Borriol himself who confirmed it firsthand: “Unfortunately, Eugenio Chacarra has fallen out of the top 24 and no longer has a contract with us. We are very grateful for everything he has done these past two and a half or three years. We want to see if we can get someone new, a type of player with a slightly different profile.”

This news does not mean the end of Eugenio’s adventures in the LIV. With his contract expiring and having finished the season between positions 25 and 44, Chacarra finished 39th, he has the possibility of reaching an agreement with any other team in the Saudi circuit. It is true that, according to what is being said in the circuit, negotiations seem complicated, but at any moment the Madrid native could join the ranks of the other teams.

The Madrid native has not had the best of years in the circuit with only one top 10 and seven results beyond the top 30. However, the victory in Bangkok two years ago still remains in everyone’s memory.

A spot now opens up in the Fireballs and regarding the possible replacement, Sergio has not wanted to give any clues: “We are working on it and hope to have something before the end of the year. It is exciting to consider different options and look for someone who can make the team better in all aspects. I think that is the ultimate goal, to make the team better as LIV Golf progresses. Sometimes you have to make small changes here and there.”
