LIV Golf South Africa, which concludes this Sunday at Steyn City, puts one of the strongest purses on the global golf calendar up for grabs. The event distributes $30 million between the individual leaderboard and the team competition, to which this year is added an extra individual bonus of $2.3 million intended for players from the three teams that finish on the podium
The tournament’s financial structure is divided into three blocks. On one hand, $20 million is allocated to the individual bracket, with $4 million for the winner. On the other, the team competition distributes $10 million, with prizes for the 13 teams in the tournament. And, additionally, LIV has introduced in 2026 a third reward channel: an additional individual bonus linked to the result of the teams that finish first, second and third
In practice, this means the individual winner pockets $4 million, while the best team in the tournament takes $3 million. Added to that is the mentioned bonus: the champion team will have $1 million extra to distribute among its players; the second, $800,000; and the third, $500,000. That internal distribution of the bonus is not fixed and is at the discretion of each team’s captain
