– Mi Hyang Lee (-12) has taken a giant step this Saturday towards winning again on the LPGA Tour nine years later. The 32-year-old Korean posted a valuable 71 in the third round of the Blue Bay LPGA and strengthened her lead. She has a three-shot lead over her compatriot Hye Jin Choi (-9) and the Chinese Yu Liu (-9) and four over the American Auston Kim (-8), the Japanese defending champion Rio Takeda (-8) and fellow Korean A Lim Kim (-8).
– The playing conditions in the third round of the tournament at the Jian Lake Blue Bay Golf Course in Hainan, China, were truly tough. There was a lot of wind and several costly collapses occurred. No less, Auston Kim and Ya Liu, who teed off in the featured group alongside Mi Hyang Lee, both posted rounds over par. They still have chances of victory, although they have lost room for manoeuvre.
– Carolina López Chacarra (+3) is one of those who suffered most from the wind. The Madrid native lost a lot of ground after posting a 78, six over par. She could not make a single birdie and carded six bogeys. It was truly a very tough day of golf. Carolina only hit six fairways and five greens, so she was practically recovering all day.
