Carolina López Chacarra (-5) is starting to touch the LPGA Tour card for the 2026 season with her fingertips. With seven holes left to complete the Final Stage, also known as the Q Series, the golfer from Madrid is in card positions with a margin of one stroke. It’s not done yet; a good push is still needed to grab the card and put it in the pocket, but for now, the roadmap is splendid.
The fourth day began shortly after the third finished, but it couldn’t be completed due to lack of light. As you know, this LPGA Tour Final Stage is proceeding in fits and starts due to the bad weather in Alabama, which has forced the suspension of play on several occasions. In fact, it will be played over four rounds instead of the initially stipulated five.
At three in the afternoon, Spanish peninsular time, play will resume on the Falls and Crossings courses at the RTJ Golf at Magnolia Grove complex in Mobile. There are players who still have eleven holes to play, so many things can still happen. The cut with the top 25 and ties, who will secure the card at the end of this fourth day of play, is currently at -4 with 26 players.
Carolina started the last round with a bogey on hole 10, but far from showing doubts, her reaction was sensational. She made three birdies on holes 11, 16, and 17. The next hole she needs to complete is the 3rd, as she started on the 10th. She has two par 5s, one par 3, and four par 4s left. The goal is to finish among the top 25 and become the sixth Spaniard to have LPGA Tour playing rights in 2026, alongside Carlota Ciganda and Julia López, who have full category, Fátima Fernández Cano, who will enjoy a medical exemption, and Azahara Muñoz and Carla Tejedo, who have a conditional status that will allow them to play some tournaments with the aim of achieving a good re-ranking.
The other Spaniard playing the fourth round of this Final Stage is Carla Bernat (+3). She has played 12 holes and is level par for the day on the Falls, with one bogey and one birdie. She has six holes left and would need to finish in an epic manner, with a seven-under-par to get to where the cut is currently. In any case, the player from Castellón will try until the maths say it’s impossible. Let’s remember that Carla Tejedo decided to withdraw after the third round with a tournament total of +6.
The lead is held by Korean Dongeun Lee (-10), with a one-stroke advantage over Perrine Delacour (-9) and Helen Briem (-9). Among those currently within the top 25 are some names like Nastasia Nadaud, Mimi Rhodes, Hinako Shibuno, Chiara Tamburlini, or Ryan O’Toole. Everything will be decided this Tuesday. A day of many nerves.
