The start of the LPGA Tour School Final is postponed due to bad weather

The grand Final of the LPGA Tour School (Q Series) has started with a forced halt. The first round has been suspended and postponed of the Final Qualifying after it was found, before play began this Thursday, that the course was in unplayable conditions due to the weather.

The referees inspected the course and, with the forecast that the ground may dry overnight and into Friday morning, the plan is to start the first round at 8:00 (local time, six hours ahead in Spain). In coordination with the maintenance team, a new inspection will be carried out early to confirm playability.

Despite the delay, the goal of the LPGA is to complete the 90 holes scheduled in this demanding Final of the Q Series. However, the postponement requires extending the tournament until Tuesday, December 9th. The organisation also leaves the door open to further adjustments if more interruptions occur throughout the week, including possible changes to the total number of holes, if necessary to carry out the competition.

The Q Series, one of the most intense weeks on the calendar, once again highlights that before cards, pressure, and dreams to fulfil, the course rules… and the weather rules. Let’s remember that we have three Spanish players in this grand Final taking place in Alabama, at the Crossings and Falls courses, at the RTJ Golf Trail complex. The protagonists are Carla Bernat, Carla Tejedo, and Carolina López-Chacarra.
