The Dutchman Jerry Ji was crowned winner of the fourth edition of the Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand, an Alps Tour tournament held on the challenging course of Aravell Golf (par 71, 6,155 metres), located in the region of Pallars Sobirà, near the French border. Ji delivered a final card of 199 strokes (-14) after a thrilling day where the title was not decided until the last two holes.
The final round was a constant exchange of strokes. Ji started with a bogey on the 1st hole. A mistake that allowed Alejandro Aguilera (-9) and Mason Essam (-10) to join the fight.
Aguilera and Ji exchanged the lead, as Essam fell behind on the 15th hole. The Spaniard, unlucky, made two consecutive bogeys on the 16th and 17th holes, a situation Ji took advantage of to seal the victory with two birdies on the last two holes. They finally finished with a five-stroke difference that did not do justice to what had been seen.
In second place on the leaderboard, there was a three-way tie at -11 between Spaniards Rubén Pardo and Javier Calles and Irishman Ronan Mullarney. A great second place for Calles that significantly boosts him in the Alps ranking.The best amateur of the tournament was the Frenchman Martin Engel.
“I am very happy to achieve my first victory. Winning is always special. I believe solid play was key in the moments when the opponents were pressing,” said Ji after the tournament.

In addition to Pardo and Calles, Javier Sainz, Asier Aguirre, Alejandro Aguilera, David Salgado, and Álvaro Hernández finished in the top 10.

Regarding the individual ranking, the top five earn the Alps card, led by Italian Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, who is this week at the DP World Tour’s Italian Open, second is Javier Calles, and the top 5 is completed by Álvaro Hernández, Javier Barcos, and Quentin Debove. Asier Aguirre is lurking in that top 5, and a little further back are Jorge Maicas and Mario Galiano.
