During the presentation, the various authorities and representatives highlighted the importance of the tournament for the sporting and tourist promotion of the island, as well as the consolidation of Tecina Golf as one of the most recognised venues on the European circuit

Andrés Marín, Managing Director of Fred. Olsen S.A., expressed his satisfaction at hosting the event again and thanked the organisers for the trust placed in them. “As always, we are delighted to host the Alps Tour tournament once again at our La Gomera facilities. For Fred. Olsen it is a pride to host a competition of this level and we are extremely grateful to JGolf and the Alps Tour for continuing to count on us for such an important tournament”, he said

Andrés Marín also highlighted the prestige the circuit has gained in recent years and the quality of the players taking part in this edition. “Many great players have taken part in this tournament and we hope that will continue in the future. This year we have names such as Álvaro Quirós, Alejandro Cañizares and Álvaro Hernández, one of the leading figures in Canarian golf. The Alps Tour has established itself as a highly prestigious circuit and an increasing number of players want to compete here”, he added

For his part, Diego Cambreleng, President of the Real Federación Canaria de Golf, thanked Fred. Olsen for its continued commitment to golf on the island. “People always come to La Gomera with enthusiasm and excitement. Thank you for continuing to support our sport and for the benefits that this type of event generates for both the island and the Canary Islands”, he stressed

The Vice President of the Cabildo de La Gomera, Adasat Reyes, highlighted the island’s appeal as a tourist and sporting destination. “La Gomera has something that captivates those who visit it. Its tranquillity, its culture, its gastronomy and its surroundings mean that competitions like this have already reached their sixth edition and can continue to grow in the future. It is all the result of combined efforts that make the island an attractive destination for both tourism and sport”, he explained

Likewise, Adasat Reyes highlighted the conditions that Tecina Golf offers for practising the sport. “The weather conditions and the surroundings offered by Tecina Golf allow participants to enjoy a magnificent experience throughout the week. We hope the players enjoy the tournament, because it is the best way for them to achieve their goals”, he added

The Mayor of San Sebastián de La Gomera, Angélica Padilla Herrera, welcomed the participants and highlighted the impact the tournament has on the international promotion of the island. “It is a pleasure to host a new edition of the Fred. For some it will be a return to a course they already know; for others, the first contact with our island. To all we wish an unforgettable stay”, she said

The mayor also emphasised the strategic importance of the tournament for the territory. “This event represents much more than a sporting competition. It is a magnificent opportunity to project the image of La Gomera internationally, to strengthen our positioning as a destination for sports tourism and to demonstrate our capacity to host major events”, she concluded
