Rocco Repetto (-8) showcases his credentials on the Alps Tour. The young Andalusian player made his debut this Wednesday in Egypt in his rookie season on the satellite circuit, and he did so by shining brightly. He finishes the first round as co-leader of the Ein Bay Open alongside Giovani Manzoni (-8) after starting eight under par at Sohkna Golf Club. A formidable start to the season.
The Fuengirola native turned professional just six months ago and secured his Alps rights through the School just a month later. In Spain, he has already had time to win the Castilla y León Professional Championship of the PGA of Spain. Rocco, trained at the American university Oral Roberts in Oklahoma, shows promise and is eager to succeed. It’s time to take note. Repetto shows promise. He is very young and has just launched his professional career, but the reality is that he is making his mark step by step.
The start at the Ein Bay Open has been almost unbeatable. Leader of the tournament with a round of 64 strokes with seven birdies, an eagle, and only one mistake in his first 18 holes. It is only his second tournament on the circuit. Last season he debuted at the Alps de las Castillas where he couldn’t make the cut. Repetto is growing rapidly and in Egypt, he wants to prove the worth of his game.
The start of the Armada is almost unbeatable. The first round of the season has been spectacular for the Spaniards. Just one stroke behind the leaders are two more of our own, Mario Galiano and José Luis Adarraga (-7) who have both signed cards of 65 strokes. In the top ten and three shots off the lead is the very young José Antonio Sintes (-5) who, at 19 years old, wants to fight to win his second title on the circuit. Closing the top 20 are Victor García Broto, winner of the Alps in 2020, and Manuel Morugán (-4). Juan Salama, Hugo Expósito, and Ignacio Gómez Osuna (-3) have also made a more than solid start in Egypt.
