Although he started as the leader in the final round of the Rogers Charity Classic after two rounds of 63 strokes, Miguel Ángel Jiménez (-16) could not secure the victory in the PGA Tour Champions tournament held this weekend at the Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club in Calgary, Canada. The Spaniard needed 68 strokes on Sunday to complete the course and was surpassed by Australian Richard Green (-18), who achieved his first victory on the tour, and Argentine Ricardo Rodríguez (-17).
Green, aged 54, claimed his first title on the US senior tour in his 71st tournament. A great birdie on the last hole allowed him to secure the win with a final round of 65 strokes, after having scored 65 and 62 in the first two days of competition. The good news for Miguel is that despite not being able to achieve what would have been his fifth victory of the season, in what is his most successful year since joining the Champions, he is getting closer to the title in the Charles Schwab Cup.

The Spaniard leads the overall circuit standings with 2,871,638 in earnings in 2025. His margin over Stewart Cink, the second-placed player, is over 880,000 dollars. Although he still needs to finish the job because there are six regular calendar tournaments and the three final series events remaining, in which the top 72, 54, and 36 players of the Charles Schwab Cup participate, respectively, and where the points awarded are doubled compared to the earnings.
