The PGA of America, organiser of the PGA Championship, announced this Saturday the exact amount of the prize pool for this edition of the tournament, which is being held at the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, and how the distribution will be tomorrow, when the tournament concludes. In total, the prizes have increased by one million dollars compared to 2023, reaching 18.5 million.
For the winner, in addition to the prestige, the various exemptions and the famous Wanamaker Trophy, the cheque they will take home will be 3,330,000 dollars (last year’s winner, Brooks Koepka, pocketed 3,150,000 dollars). For the runner-up, if they hold the position alone, there will be a prize of 1,998,000 dollars. While for the third place, under the same conditions, the reward will be 1,258,000 dollars.
The 78 players who managed to make the cut after the first 36 holes, which were completed this Saturday morning due to lack of light, will receive financial compensation depending on the final position they occupy. For the last of these 78 golfers competing this afternoon at Valhalla, the prize will be 22,100 dollars.
