A season to forget, with 12 missed cuts, a single top 10, and only two results within the top 25, has placed Adam Hadwin (-11) in a delicate situation on the PGA Tour. For the first time since 2014, he could lose his playing rights for the next season. But he still has two opportunities to avoid it. The first, this week, at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, which is preparing for its final 36 holes. And the last, if he doesn’t succeed these days, at the RSM Classic that closes the season.
The Canadian has not found the best version of his game all year. Especially from the tee, erratic both left and right, and on the greens. But these days, at the Port Royal Golf Course, he seems to have found the key, at least when it comes to putting. “What I missed the most was sinking the putts from one and a half to two meters. That frees up the rest of your game. His margin over Chandler Phillips (-10) and Braden Thornberry (-10), who share second place, is just one stroke, but he is already five strokes ahead of the players in 9th place.
Among them is Doug Ghim (-6), who was the best of the day with a round of 63 strokes. Meanwhile, the Japanese Rikuya Hoshino (-6), Takumi Kanaya (-6), and Ryo Hisatsune (-6) were the only non-Americans to break into a top 10 full of players facing serious challenges to retain their cards, like the leader. As for the Europeans, Seamus Power (-5) and Martin Laird (-5) are the two best, six strokes behind the leader, with Thorbjorn Olesen (-3), David Skinns (-3), and Jesper Svensson (-3) losing positions.

Friday’s comeback was led by Sahit Theegala (-1), improving by almost 60 places. After submitting a card of 76 strokes yesterday, he responded today with a great 65, with a tremendous series of five consecutive birdies to surpass a cut set at par. The very young Blades Brown (-1), aged 18, managed to make the cut. And Nico Echavarria (-4) is in a tied 23rd place, which would allow him to sneak into the 51st to 60th positions of the FedEx Fall, earning a spot in the first two designated events of 2026 at the expense of Kevin Yu (+1).
Ahead, a challenging weekend, where the wind will be a protagonist, in search of the result that allows a long list of players to avoid having to risk it all on one card in the last tournament of the season.
