The North Course at Silverado Resort in Napa, California, is hosting the Procore Championship this week, a PGA Tour tournament where several members of the upcoming US Ryder Cup team are honing their game. An event that distributes six million dollars in prizes and marks the start of the autumn schedule of the US circuit, where a good number of players will fight over the coming months to retain their playing rights for 2026.
With the world’s Number One, Scottie Scheffler, in contention for victory, four days of competition will conclude this Sunday to see who succeeds Patton Kizzire, last year’s winner, and in addition to the trophy and usual exemptions, takes home the tournament’s largest cheque, 18% of the total purse, or in other words, $1,080,000. The winner will be the only player on the circuit to earn more than a million this week on the US West Coast.
For the runner-up, if they finish in sole possession of the position, a cash prize worth $654,000 is reserved, equivalent to 10.9% of the total purse. Meanwhile, for the third-place finisher, under the same conditions, the reward will be $414,000, 6.9% of the total prize money. All players who made the cut on Friday will receive financial compensation based on their final position once the 72 holes of the tournament are completed.
The PGA Tour will pause next week, ahead of the Ryder Cup, scheduled from September 26 to 28 at Bethpage Black, before resuming its autumn schedule in early October with the Sanderson Farms Championship. Once this Procore Championship is concluded, six scoring tournaments will remain for the final FedEx Cup standings, outside the playoff spots, which will determine who retains full playing rights for the next season.
