It can be said louder, but not clearer. Rory McIlroy has wanted to quash as quickly as possible the rumours of his possible departure to the Saudi circuit. Yesterday the rumour mill was unleashed following the publication of a news story claiming that Rory would leave the PGA Tour for 850 million. McIlroy has taken less than 24 hours to respond.
On the practice field of Hilton Head where he is already preparing the RBC Heritage, the Northern Irishman has given an interview to Golf Channel where he has made his position very clear: “Honestly, I don’t know how the rumour started, I have never received an offer from LIV and I have never considered going to LIV. I think I have made it clear in the last two years that I don’t think it’s something for me”. It can be said louder, but not clearer.

As he has been doing in recent months, he does continue to lower the tension, especially with the players who have left for the Saudi circuit: “Just because I don’t see myself in LIV doesn’t mean I judge the people who have left. One of the things I’ve realised in the last two years is that people can make their own decisions about what they think is best for them. Who are we to judge them for that?”.
Rory has wanted to end by emphasising his position and his decision: “My future is here on the PGA Tour and it has never been different”. The response seems emphatic.
